From DanaLoeschRadio.com:
Earlier today our news director, Jason Church, tipped me off about one of the more ridiculous pieces of legislation ever drafted, the “Thanksgiving Protection Act” from Missouri Democratic State Rep. Jeff Roorda. Roorda believes that the government should have the power to force businesses to close instead of staying open and promoting greed. He accuses businesses of luring customers in when they could be home with their families and believes that employing workers on Thanksgiving keeps them from their families.
Think about this: A Democrat whose ideology is abortion and the violation of religious freedoms via Obamacare thinks it’s bad to work on Thanksgiving. It’s as if the most intellectually-challenged member of the Occupy movement drafted this legislation.
When I pointed out the silliness of this online and lobbed some points Roorda’s way, the legislator replied in his typical belligerent fashion. Known for having loudly called Missouri voters who opposed Obamacare “teabaggers” while standing on the House floor, Roorda behaved as though he was challenging me to a fist fight and responded rudely to my producer.
I don’t have the #1 rated talk show in my markets because I allow hot-headed progressive state congressmen to call the shots and take up my entire syndicated show. My audience outside of Missouri couldn’t care less who Roorda is, except now his rudeness may make him slightly more interesting for all the wrong reasons. Additionally, I don’t interview politicians in studio. Never have. It’s harder to get them out when they’re finished with their segment and 99% of the time they try to push to take up more of your airtime than you can give them — this coming from other talent at my station who at times do invite politicians in studio. If Roorda expected the special treatment of an in-studio invite, he should have demonstrated the courtesy of an elected official to a Missouri constituent and behaved in a manner befitting the office. You’re not going to call people “teabaggers” on the House floor, act like you’re going to physically fight fellow lawmakers, accuse me of lying about you pushing a bill you push yourself on Twitter and in the local press, and send hot-headed emails to my producer and get the result you want. You also won’t get anywhere using your bully tactics with me to call the shots on my program. I don’t do frat behavior.
Dana, I have some sound advice to you: Fuck Off! It is YOU that is the bully, and NOT Roorda.
She also attacked Roorda on twitter:
Get this, Democrat @roordaj wants gov't to force businesses to close on Thanksgiving: bit.ly/VE3p3X #MO #tcot

The man of the pro-abortion, pro-violation of religious freedoms in Obamacare wants to shut biz down to preserve Thanksgiving. @roordaj

The man who called his constituents "teabaggers" on the MO House floor wants to force biz to close for Thanksgiving. @roordaj
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
The guy w ideology that wants to seize fruits from one to give to those who didn't earn it wants to fight "greed" on Thxgiving. @roordaj
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
Will you call me teabagger as well? RT @roordaj @dloesch Dana, I'm more than happy to come in the studio and debate you any time.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
LOL. Jeff Roorda demanded of Kevin that he will refuse to be a guest if he can't come in studio. Um, you don't call the shots here. #dlrs
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
Roorda: "I won't do a phone interview. It's in-studio or no deal." This is from an elected official. He must not really want discussion.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
Right now Jeff Roorda keeps emailing my producer and being very confrontational. I kid you not. LOL #dlrs
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
Roorda is trying to set up an out for this because he doesn't want a debate.. LOL
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
"Tell her I said if she's tough enough to lie about me on the air then she should be tough enough to interview me face-to-face." #dlrs
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
Hi @roordaj, you falsely accused me of lying about you on air. Please prove said lies. This is no way to go about your PR.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
So all the media who quoted him, along with OTHER lawmakers, as calling Missourians "teabaggers" is a lie? I'm confused.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
If this is the extent of his "debate" skills, why would I subject my audience to such inanity? I'm #1 in my markets for a reason.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
"tough enough to interview me" Is lawmaker Roorda wanting to fight me or talk to me? Who talks like this in elected office?
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
I invited Rep Roorda to call into the show and he backed out after his talk on Twitter. Guess he didn’t want that discussion after all #dlrs
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 5, 2012
Jeff Roorda, the congressman who got belligerent with me earlier, seems to lose his cool a lot: bit.ly/TKFrT9!
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 6, 2012
In an email to my producer, Roorda talked about me being "tough enough" to interview him. So he could act like this? bit.ly/TKFrT9!
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 6, 2012
Let's see, a congressman who falsely accused me of lying about him with zero proof, who called me and others "teabaggers," who gets ...
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 6, 2012
.. into scuffles on the house floor, a guy who tried to bully his way into calling the shots on my show? He declined the interview afterall.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 6, 2012
He received an invite to appear on my program and was every bit as rude and belligerent as seen in video and quoted in media.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 6, 2012
When he figured out that this was a woman who won't be bullied, he set himself up to back out of the interview. Probably the smartest thing.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) December 6, 2012
Loesch has also demonized Roorda back in January 2010 as well::
Ready the fainting couch: Dana Loesch has got the vapors. She's just so offended that Jeff Roorda used the term "teabaggers" when he was speaking on the floor of the Missouri House of Representatives.
However, as pointed out here: Loesch makes "teabagger" jokes frequently, and doesn't seem to be offended by herself.
