Extremist hack Dana Loesch on KETC's Donnybrook: telling more lies

Last Thursday night on St. Louis's PBS affiliate KETC, deranged Tea Party extremist hack Dana Loesch was one of the panelists on Donnybrook, along with KMOX radio host Charlie Brennan, St. Louis Post-Dispatch (where Loesch used to be employed) columnist Bill McClellan, ESPN101 writer and STLMag.com columnist Alvin Reid, and St. Louis Magazine (STLMag) owner Ray Hartmann.

From the 11.08.2012 edition of KETC's Donnybrook:

Watch November 8, 2012 on PBS. See more from Donnybrook.
Key points of her Donnybrook appearance:

  • Loesch thinks that no one in the Republican Party has any faith in stopping him. (approx. 2:09)
  • She admitted that the GOP had a terrible ground game. (approx. 2:20)
  • Ray Hartmann, a Donnybrook regular, stated that the "Democrats had a great night and a great campaign. (approx. 3:40)
  • Loesch: "The GOP struggled with their messaging." (approx. 4:54)
  • Alvin Reid takes down the Romney campaign's lies. (approx. 5:29)
  • Hartmann says "Obama has his mandate." (approx. 8:27)
  • Loesch declares falsely that "Obama has no mandate." (approx 8:52)
  • Loesch: "Obama ran on the 3 B's: Big Bird, Binders, and Birth Control." (approx. 9:02)
  • Hartman: "I think both Barry Goldwater and Hubert Humphrey are rolling over in their graves." (approx. 10:10)
  • Reid: "The Bush Tax Cuts were made to end and are NOT a tax increase." (approx. 10:39)
  • Reid: "They dismissed him [Akin] so early, and he got beat." (approx. 13:20)

  • Bill McClellan: "I think both comments made women feel uncomfortable with Republicans." (approx. 13:39)
  • Loesch said that "had the Republicans contained their outrage, then it would've never been an issue." (approx. 14:10).
  • Loesch mistakenly said that Akin represented the 3rd Congressional District of Missouri. No, Ms. Loesch, prior to this decade's redistricting, he represented the 2nd district and Carnahan (D) represented the 3rd (which her husband Chris's Shock City Studios is located at). (approx. 14:28)
  • Hartmann stated that "Akin and the GOP blew up any chance they had in winning Missouri (and possibly Senate control)." (approx. 16:08)
  • McClellan: "When Rush Limbaugh used such language about the girl from Georgetown [Sandra Fluke], that's what set off women and made the feel uncomfortable." (approx. 16:28)
  • Loesch was making excuses to defend Rush and bash Fluke and the left. (approx. 16:48)
  • Loesch: "If Bill Clinton survived what he did, why not Peter Kinder?" (approx. 18:40)
  • Loesch whined about UN election monitors supervising our elections. (approx. 19:40)
  • Charlie Brennan called out her BS conspiracy theory about the UN, and replied that "we [the USA] has monitored other countries' elections." (approx. 19:52)
  • Loesch defended the Kinder/Chapman strip club scandal. (approx. 20:30)
  • Reid said this cigarette tax increase failure was "all about opposition to higher taxes on cigarettes." (approx. 25:20)

Why would our local PBS affiliate KETC allow an extremist like Loesch to be booked as a panelist on Donnybrook?

UPDATED: Anti-Union hack Dana Loesch falsely attacks unions of "not helping the Hurricane Sandy storm victims" [UPDATE: just a rumor by the TCOT Brigade]

Chronic anti-union asshat Dana Loesch found some time to politicize Hurricane Sandy in order to bash unions.

Dana Loesch's site that 's chock full of BS:

Despite the photos of devastation and families who’ve lost everything, union bosses still found time to play politics in the middle of a natural disaster.
This is similar to what union bosses pulled during the blizzard in New York.
I thought Chris Christie was infamous for taking on the unions? Some via Twitter have speculated that Gov. Christie may be unaware that this is happening. I’m willing to extend him the benefit of the doubt for then, but now after this story has blown up online there can be no ignorance of the matter. People need help. Sandy didn't happen in August or early September like Katrina, Ike, and Irene. It’s November now. People are cold.
The biased-as-hell Malkin-run Twitchy::

Unions first, hurricane victims later. This blood-boiling report from Alabama’s WAFF 48 News will come as no surprise to those familiar with the Big Labor protection racket.Guess we’ll see if Obama’s “We leave nobody behind” vow has a union label sewn on it.
Excuse me, righties! The unions are NOT playing politics during the post-Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts, and it's folks like you, Twitchy, and other right-wing cuckoos that are politicizing this, NOT the unions or the left!

UPDATE: AL.com has this report on why Joe Wheeler Utilities weren't allowed to go to New Jersey:

Representatives with Huntsville Utilities and Joe Wheeler Cooperative, two area utilities mentioned in media reports claiming their crews were not allowed to help with storm aid in New Jersey because they were non-union, said this morning the story is untrue.
The general manager of the other department mentioned, Decatur Utilities, has been unavailable for comment this morning. One of its crew members was quoted in the initial reports.
Bill Yell, spokesman for Huntsville Utilities, said nine of his employees are currently helping with recovery from Hurricane Sandy and had no union-related issues.
"That's a rumor," he said. "We are starting work this morning with Long Island Power Authority. We were headed to a New Jersey utility but they had all the crews they could handle."
A spokeswoman for Joe Wheeler Electrical Membership Cooperative said the crews from Trinity also are assisting with storm recovery and, in fact, are unionized.
"It is not true for us," she said. "I don't know how we got lumped in there (in that report). We sent eight guys to Maryland, not New Jersey. They have been there since before the storm but they've finished work and are headed home this morning."
"We were not turned away," he said. "It's a lot more complicated than that. One of the problems is whenever this kind of thing happens people call and ask, 'Are you going to send crews out?' but it's not a situation where everybody jumps in truck and heads up there. You have to work through trade associations. You have mutual-aid agreements and you've got to find a system that needs you and is able to take you."
He said some systems don't use the same voltage and may have different configurations. "You don't just go up there and say, 'Hey, we're here. We're going to start putting up poles for you."

Dana Loesch (and the rest of the #TCOT Brigade) harping about a "sex scandal" to discredit Bob Menendez

We have yet another right-wing media/#TCOT Brigade non-story to break: GOP cheerleader Dana Loesch reported on this non-scandal on her lie-filled radio show blog in order to help out Bob Menendez (D-NJ)'s challenger Joe Kyrillos (R):

The bigger story is Menendez’s offense. The crime isn’t that he’s a single man who paid for prostitutes, the crime is his hypocrisy. The crime is that Menendez acts like a savior on the front lines of the “war on women.”
Does he limit his “concern” for American women? Dominican women are excluded? This is the hypocrisy of the left. Sex scandals and double standards don’t matter if the antagonist is a Democrat.
So where does Bob Menendez stand on women’s rights, and can we start with the right of the prostitutes to get the money Menendez promised them?

This is bullcrap, Dana, and you fucking know it!

Here's her tweets on the Menendez non-scandal:

When MO-Lt. Gov. and regular guest of The Dana Show's Peter Kinder (R) had a similar scandal (and that one, unlike Menendez, is a REAL scandal), what did Loesch do? She DEFENDED him.

The GOP-biased Daily Caller's Matthew Boyle::

Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year.
In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.
The women spoke through a translator in the company of their attorney, Melanio Figueroa. Both asked that their identities remain obscured for fear of reprisals in the Dominican Republic.
When shown a photograph of Sen. Menendez, the women said they recognized him as the man with whom they’d had sexual relations at Casa de Campo this spring. Both said they were brought to the resort with the understanding they would be paid for sex.
Neither knew the identity of the man at the time. Both claimed to recognize him later as Sen. Menendez.
“He called him[self] ‘Bob,’” said one.
One woman said Menendez wooed her with compliments like “beautiful” before they slept together. The other woman recounted, with apparent bitterness, receiving from an intermediary only $100 of the $500 she had been promised.
“He lies,” she said of Menendez. “He says one thing and does another.”
According to the translator’s summary, Menendez “was nice at first, but then later he did not seem to care about her.”
Menendez, who is 58 and divorced, has represented New Jersey in the U.S. Senate as a Democrat since being appointed to fill a vacancy in 2005. He is up for re-election on Nov. 6
In the latest October surprise, two unidentified women from the Dominican Republic are accusing Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez of paying them for sex earlier this year, The Daily Caller reports.
The two women spoke on camera with their faces obscured through a translator, with their attorney present. The prostitutes are alleging that Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex, but he only gave them $100.
Even die-hard right-wing loon host of MSNBC's The Cycle S.E. Cupp believes this is a non-scandal:

For now, even Jim Hoft's Gateway Pundit has not touched this "story." And also I don't see Fixed Noise, NewsMax, Fox Nation, or WND on this at this moment. This could change in the morning.

Hoft's website pounced on this non-story::
That’s odd. He’s so generous with spending your money – just not his own.

And until CREDIBLE news sources report on this (such as HuffPo, CNN, MSNBC, TPM, NBC News, Yahoo!), this is just another right-wing bogus story perpetrated by the likes of Dana Loesch, The Daily Caller, The Blaze, FreeRepublic, HotAir, Drudge, NewsMax, and the whole RWNJ/#TCOT Media apparatus. And even if they did, it would be seen as a RWNJ hackjob.

Adam Weinstein at Mother Jones has called out The Daily Caller on their role in the non-scandal on Twitter:

If a GOP candidate was involved in a sex scandal, I bet these same so-called "family values" kooks would try to cover up that crime to protect them, like with what happened to Senator David Vitter (R-LA) and former Congresscritter Mark Foley (R).

Proof from a Washington Monthly article from from Steve Benen on the GOP hypocrisy of sex scandals::

Democrats caught up in sex scandals -- Spitzer, John Edwards, Jim McGreevey, and to a lesser extent, Eric Massa -- tend to quickly resign and avoid politics. Republicans -- Vitter, Ensign, Sanford, Gingrich, Giuliani -- prefer a far different approach, reject the idea of being permanently disgraced, and the GOP doesn't seem to mind.
I can appreciate why IOKIYAR seems like a lazy cliche, but I'm not convinced it's wrong.
