Dana Loesch defends Washington NFL Team's racist name, slams USPTO for denying "Redskins" trademark

Tea Party moron Dana Loesch is defending the awful racist slur of Washington NFL Team's nickname, the "Redskins" by falsely claiming that the term honors Native Americans.


She even got cheapshots in at Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). She slammed the United States Patent and Trademark Office for correctly denying the name.

More false logic from Loesch. The Blackhawks, Braves, Cleveland Indians team name, and Oklahoma's names honor Native American heritage respectfully, whereas the Washington NFL Team name and Cleveland Indians mascot Chief Wahoo do not.

Sorry, Dana, but the $20 will NOT be taken out of circulation; however, Andrew Jackson can be replaced with someone else more deserving.

A recent study by the California State University, San Bernadino reports 67% of Native Americans find the Washington Redskins name and imagery racist.
12 percent of Native respondents were neutral and 20 percent disagreed. In contrast, 60 percent of white respondents do not find the name racist. When asked if they found the term “disrespectful,” the number of positive respondents rose to 68%.
This debunks the "90% of Native Americans support keeping the 'Redskins'" canard in the infamous 2004 Annenberg poll espoused by anti-DC NFL Team name change folks like Loesch.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office has canceled six federal trademark registrations for the name of the Washington "Redskins", ruling that the name is “disparaging to Native Americans” and thus cannot be trademarked under federal law that prohibits the protection of offensive or disparaging language. 
The U.S. PTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board issued a ruling in the case, brought against the team by plaintiff Amanda Blackhorse, Wednesday morning.
“We decide, based on the evidence properly before us, that these registrations must be cancelled because they were disparaging to Native Americans at the respective times they were registered,” the board wrote in its opinion, which is here. A brief explanation of how the Board reached its decision is here. 
“The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board agreed with our clients that the team’s name and trademarks disparage Native Americans. The Board ruled that the Trademark Office should never have registered these trademarks in the first place,” Jesse Witten, the plaintiffs’ lead attorney, said in a press release. “We presented a wide variety of evidence – including dictionary definitions and other reference works, newspaper clippings, movie clips, scholarly articles, expert linguist testimony, and evidence of the historic opposition by Native American groups – to demonstrate that the word ‘redskin’ is an ethnic slur.”
Kudos to the USPTO, even it pisses off the pro-keep the "Redskins" name crowd.

Neil Irwin at The New York Times on the future of the DC NFL Team's name: 
We can only guess the exact volume and color of the steam coming out of Daniel Snyder’s ears right about now. Wednesday morning, the United States Patent and Trademark Office canceled the trademark for the Washington Redskins, the pro football team that Mr. Snyder owns — and that he has steadfastly refused to rename, amid accusations that its mascot is racist.
It’s important to be clear on what the ruling from the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board ruling means and doesn’t mean. It does not prohibit Mr. Snyder from using “Redskins” as the team’s name. It merely prevents him from using the court system to prevent others from using the term.
One could now imagine someone opening the “Redskins Bar & Grill” without paying a royalty to Mr. Snyder, though that opens up an awkward Catch-22: It’s legal to use the name because a government commission found it disparages Native Americans, but you would then own a restaurant whose name disparages a minority group.






And Mr. Snyder and the team will assuredly challenge the ruling in federal court. Native American groups won their case before the trademark appeal board once before, in 1999, only to have it overturned by a United States District Court. And there was a dissent in the ruling by the trademark review board this time around. (Amusingly, even the dissenter, Marc Bergsman, seemed to distance himself from the name, writing, “I am not suggesting that the term “redskins” was not disparaging in 1967, 1974, 1978, and 1990 … Rather, my conclusion is that the evidence petitioners put forth fails to show that it was.”)
But it’s hard to view the new ruling as anything other than the beginning of the end of the name. It has now been assailed not just by Native American groups but by the president of the United States and half the Senate, which ultimately controls the various tax and legal advantages the N.F.L. enjoys. Players in football and many other sports are now routinely asked their view of the name, and their evident discomfort with it is rising.
Yep. Time to change the name of Washington's godawful team name.

Progressives Today's Kyle Olson and Jim Hoft with Andrew Marcus join Dana Loesch on TheBlazeTV's Dana for lies and smears against the 2014 White Privilege Conference

Newly formed right-wing propaganda site Progressives Today co-founders Jim Hoft (The Gateway Pundit's primary blogger and founder) and Kyle Olson (founder of far-right anti-public schools/anti-unions site EAGnews.org), along with Andrew Marcus, joined host Dana Loesch on her self-titled TheBlazeTV show to spew falsehoods about progressives and liberals regarding the 2014 White Privilege Conference and defending the Tea Party.

Wisconsin State Journal's Doug Erickson on the White Privilege Conference held in Madison, Wisconsin:
The gathering draws ridicule and outrage from some, especially political conservatives, who question the need for it and the amount of tax money helping to stage it. Among the two dozen co-hosts of this year’s conference are Madison Area Technical College, UW-Madison and the city of Madison’s Department of Civil Rights. Most co-hosts are paying a fee between $500 and $3,000, according to organizers, although UW-Madison is kicking in $5,000.
Dave Blaska, a former Dane County Board member, wrote in a recent blog for In Business magazine that the conference sends the message that white people are the problem.
“Madison’s ruling white liberals are so afraid to be called racist that they refrain from criticizing destructive behaviors,” he wrote. “Instead, they double down on the race card, blaming unconscious, subliminal racism.”
Conservative Madison radio talk show host Vicki McKenna told her listeners, “I object to one penny of my money being used to support this.”

The conference routinely triggers “threatening and ugly emails,” Moore said, often from white supremacists.
So far, none of the emails this year has been directly threatening, said Lt. Dave McCaw of the Madison Police Department, but the department will continue to monitor social media in the days leading up to the conference, as it does prior to any large gathering, he said.
At this point, McCaw said there appears to be no need for off-duty police at the event, though on-duty officers will give the conference extra attention.
Opposition is not uncommon, Moore said. Members of the St. Louis-based Council of Conservative Citizens protested the 2011 conference in Minneapolis. The group did not return phone calls. A recent post on its website called the Madison conference “extremist” and said “Wisconsin taxpayers are being forced to pay for the entire thing.”

Luckily, Jim Hoft and his Aryan stud partner, Kyle Olson (who judging from the video has aged a bit into a not as Aryan not a stud), very BRAVELY sent BRAVE people undercover to the 15th annual White Privilege conference, where we imagine they got told to check their privilege a LOT. It has pretty much gotten to the point where you can’t try on a pair of shoes without someone telling you that only because you are privileged were you able to ignore the racist history of Thom McCan. (Note: to our knowledge there is no racist history to Thom McCan. A lady says Obama is just a black face in the master’s house, which is the closest they get to anything that could possibly be construed as offensive, and even then you really have to squint and turn your phone sideways. Mostly they’re dismayed that anyone could think America has systemic, entrenched racism, and that the Tea Party is racist, and that these terrible black people (and SO-CALLED and DEFINITELY self-loathing WHITE ‘ALLIES’) might want to teach your children that in fact slavery wasn’t that awesome. They might even have to read The Invisible Backpack. (Except some people are mad that The Invisible Backpack was written by a white woman, because she was “casually appropriating the pain of black people,” because sometimes with Critical Race Theory you will always lose no matter what, especially Critical Race Theory as practiced by people on Twitter.)

Dana Loesch makes excuses to defend domestic terrorist Cliven Bundy's racist remarks

When far-right domestic terrorist Cliven Bundy made his awful racially tinged remarks about African-Americans, far-right fringe radio host Dana Loesch made excuses to DEFEND Bundy's racist bullshit. She smeared Politico writer Jonathan Topaz for telling the truth about Bundy's racism.

The New York Times' Adam Nagourney:
He said he would continue holding a daily news conference; on Saturday, it drew one reporter and one photographer, so Mr. Bundy used the time to officiate at what was in effect a town meeting with supporters, discussing, in a long, loping discourse, the prevalence of abortion, the abuses of welfare and his views on race. 
“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do. 
“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Jonathan Topaz at Politico:
Loesch said that Bundy’s comments might have been aimed at “decrying what big government has done to the black family,” as opposed to necessarily being racist remarks. She said the Bundy affair is primarily about “government overreach.”
“If Bundy is a racist, that is awful,” she wrote, “but what exactly does that have to do with the [Bureau of Land Management]? I’ve been saying for weeks that this isn’t about one rancher. It’s about government overreach.”
Loesch concluded by suggesting that liberals are trying to distract from government overreach by focusing the story exclusively on Bundy.
Former Mediaite Contributor Tommy Christopher at The Daily Banter:
Dana Loesch, though, isn’t so sure. Faced with Bundy’s remarks, the conservative media powerhouse rushed to keyboard to comment. She wrote “I was alerted to this story this evening in the NYT on rancher Cliven Bundy which featured a quote I was told was racist, and therefor I should apologize for ever criticizing the Bureau of Land Management’s handling of this and other situations,” and then blockquoted the Timespiece. Granting that the quote is “odd” and that it “sounds” racist, Loesch went on to explain that even if the guy didn’t express himself “perfectly,” he kinda had a point (emphasis mine): 
A few things. First, to take the quote at face value it’s odd and sounds offensive. You’re talking about government overreach and you go into this story? Secondly, I hope no one is surprised that an old man rancher isn’t media trained to express himself perfectly. He seems to be decrying what big government has done to the black family — which big government has negatively affected not just the black family, but all families regardless of ethnicity — so perhaps he included that in his remarks against big government? 
In Loesch’s defense, and I mean this sincerely, what Bundy said is the kind of thing that mainstream Republicans say all the time, it is mainstream Republican thought. The only difference is they don’t usually use the word “Negro,” or something close. Watching them scramble to get away from the Bundy grenade is comical, because they are the ones who armed it and pulled the pin.

Dana Loesch defends fringe terrorist Cliven Bundy

Tea Party activist Dana Loesch has been defending far-right domestic terrorist Cliven Bundy by smearing Senator Harry Reid (D-NV).

Loesch's fact-free smear of Reid:
The tortoise wasn’t of concern when Harry Reid worked BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise’s habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore. Whittemore was convicted of illegal campaign contributions to Senator Reid. Reid’s former senior adviser is now the head of BLM. Reid is accused of using the new BLM chief as a puppet to control Nevada land (already over 84% of which is owned by the federal government) and pay back special interests. BLM has proven that they’ve a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they’ve had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development. Clearly these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area. If only Clive Bundy were a big Reid donor.

The real facts about Bundy, which Loesch neglects to tell, are written by the SPLC.

The core of the dispute is Cliven Bundy’s ongoing claim to the right to graze his cattle on a sensitive piece of southern Nevada’s Mojave Desert known as Gold Butte. Bundy’s family had grazed cattle in the area for generations, but in 1993 Cliven Bundy stopped paying his fees on the land, claiming that the United States government was not the legitimate landlord.
In 2013, a federal judge enjoined him from continuing to graze his cattle on the federal lands, an order he has studiously ignored. So this week, federal authorities moved into the area and began sweeping up Bundy’s trespassing cattle.
Bundy threatened a “range war” if Bureau of Land Management agents took custody of his stock, calling them “cattle thieves.” But, initially at least, the threats appeared to fizzle as the roundup of Bundy’s cattle proceeded apace, accompanied by a heavy law enforcement presence at the scene, while Bundy sputtered helplessly on the sideline. On Sunday, another adult son, 37-year-old David Bundy, was arrested after getting into a confrontation with the federal officers; afterwards, Bundy and his compatriots described for reporters their alleged ordeal the hands of federal officers. 
BLM officials, meanwhile, defend the crackdown on Bundy’s activities by noting that he is the only rancher in the region who refuses to acknowledge or heed the federal permit system for grazing rights. “Cattle have been in trespass on public lands in southern Nevada for more than two decades. This is unfair to the thousands of other ranchers who graze livestock in compliance with federal laws and regulations throughout the West,” the BLM website noted.


Yesterday on The Dana Show, Loesch and Bundy used their segment to push more conspiracy theories, including the claim that "they're throwing little old ladies on the ground and siccing dogs on them."

On The Kelly File, Loesch used the story to gin up anti-immigrant racist paranoia. The other guest, Lis Wiehl (who is nowhere near a liberal at all), correctly defends the BLM's actions against Bundy.

Ok, we understand that Loesch has an opinion about Bundy, but what does this have to do with immigration and people being here “illegally?” In fact, why did Loesch feel she had to bring up such stale (and racist, yeah, racist) ignorant images of those “illegals.” You really wonder why people like Loesch don’t get it and never will? It’s becoming so par for the course, even us calling her out will now be seen as 1) “leftist” 2) “anti-American” 3) “criminal” 4) “amnesty-loving” or 5) “sexist.” Or wait, we forgot: 6) “Marxist” and 7) “Reconquista-loving.” Just you watch. With A&E reinstating Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson, Phony "Christian" Loesch bashes the LGBTQ community (again)

When A&E reinstated the racist and homophobic bigoted Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson from his suspension, Dana Loesch and the rest of the right-wing noise machine celebrated with glee.

On Twitter, Loesch celebrated the news with nasty attacks on the LGBTQ community while defending Phil's atrocious comments:














































No, Dana, the claim that Phil Robertson is a racist is TRUE.















GLAAD's agenda is still relevant to this day.

Rabid homophobe Dana Loesch defends Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson's disgusting comments

Delusional homophobe and phony "Christian" Dana Loesch (who recently moved to the DFW Metroplex as part of her TheBlaze duties) is doing everything she can to defend Duck Dynasty star's viciously homophobic and racist comments.

So Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan and self-proclaimed "Bible-thumper," said a whole bunch of homophobic things in GQ's new issue:
It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.

Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men ... Don't be deceived. Also deserving of our attention are Robertson's comments about the lives of black people in pre-Civil-Rights-era Louisiana, which are ignorant, bordering on racist. His outrageous comments on homosexuality largely overshadowed this. They shouldn't:
I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I'm with the blacks, because we're white trash. We're going across the field.... They're singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!... Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.
Yes, I'm so sure black people were "singing and happy" and never had to deal with any kind of "mistreatment" whatsoever. Maybe he never heard them complain about "these doggone white people" because they were afraid to? Why am I even bothering to question this nonsense?
Anyway, A&E has decided to put the star of its highest-rated show on "indefinite hiatus" from filming. Mind you, it hasn't placed the entire show on indefinite hiatus -- just [Phil] Robertson.
I am a fan of the show, and I think A&E's right to yank Phil off the show.

Phil Robertson will be off of Duck Dynasty for the forseeable future, but the rest of cast will go on for Season 5. Expect Willie and Alan Robertson to lead the end-of-episode prayers.

Loesch falsely smears Tishaura Jones as "prejudiced"

Yet again, the despicable jerkoff Dana Loesch is still acting like a whiny little brat over the highly offensive Missouri State Fair incident this past Saturday. Today, she is smearing Tishaura Jones (D), St. Louis City's treasurer, for correctly explaining on Twitter that most of the anti-Obama hate on the right is indeed racially motivated.




And what Jones said was exactly right on, which made Loesch infuriated.

Her blogpost that falsely accused Tishaura Jones of being a "bully.":

Would you like to kindly object to a city administrator behaving in such a clearly prejudiced and unprofessional manner?
And no, Mrs. Loesch, Jones is NOT "inciting racism"; however, you and your POS ilk are.














Anyone who disagrees with President Obama's policies in itself is NOT racist. It's when it gets to "Obama's a Muslim," "Obama needs to show his birth certificate", "Obama's pandering to 'lazy welfare cheats'", or "he's gonna take away our guns"-type rhetoric is where criticism of Obama is likely to be racially motivated.
