Typical from Loesch and Hoft: She falsely accuses Dr. Flood of "ceding US sovereignty to the UN"

Three of St. Louis' leading teabagger pro-2nd Amendment fetishists-- Dana Loesch, Chris Loesch, and Jim Hoft-- used today's gun safety rally in Downtown St. Louis City at Kiener Plaza to smear Mayor Francis Slay and promoted baseless United Nations-related conspiracy theories, such as falsely accusing speaker Dr. Robert Flood of "ceding United States sovereignty to the United Nations."

Earlier today a bunch of well-heeled progressive women from the nice, safe part of Missouri rolled into crime-ridden St. Louis city to condescend to city residents and hold signs proclaiming “Moms Demand Action! For Gun Sense In America!” Because what mom doesn’t demand action for things, gun sense especially? These moms aren’t like those pro-Second Amendment moms, who apparently do not demand gun sense, whatever that’s supposed to mean.

St. Louis City Mayor Francis Slay stood onstage behind speaker Dr. Robert Flood, who remarked how the United States should cede sovereignty to the United Nations because they can deal better with gun crime. You know, the United Nations that has has as members of its security council top-rated countries like Rwanda and Pakistan who are famous for citizens’ safety.

I was a bit surprised by this; as Democrats go, Slay is perceived as a moderate. He’s never glommed onto the incendiary rhetoric his party has used or insulted the tea party. While his office did give some preferential treatment to the Occupy movement, he also cracked down on them shortly thereafter and threw them out of the park in which they were squatting. Mass arrests occurred and the Occupiers responded by defacing a city employee’s house and landmarks around the city. Personally, I’ve always had a friendly relationship with members of Slay’s staff which again, is why I am surprised that he attended this rally. It was anything but a non-partisan rally. Slay’s people are always careful to keep him from very polarizing events but in this case, they failed.

Other failures of this rally: only around 150 people from around the area attended. Also, after hearing about class warfare and “one percenters” for a year, I found it hysterical to see that the rally seemed to only attract the most well-heeled limousine liberals. I wouldn’t expect these women to understand the realities of city life or the need for us city residents to protect ourselves.
Loesch does not know a damn thing about guns (other than rehashing her horseshit NRA talking points) if it bit her on the ass. She also called the pro-gun safety advocates "condescending."

She further denounced the pro-gun safety protestors on Twitter and insulted [left-leaning] suburban (read: STL County) women:

She smeared the protestors as "bussed-in from the County progressives." I bet you if the protestors being bussed in supported Dana's viewpoint, she would cheer it.

Your 2nd Amendment rights are NOT being eroded by these new gun safety proposals, Dana!

Actually, the people who live in gated subdivisions usually tend to be politically conservative, NOT liberal.

You are a deranged douchebag, Dana!

WRONGO, Dana! That's a blatant generalization.

Her husband, Chris, also took to Twitter and piled on to the distortions:

He repeated the "more people killed by hammers" lie.

He also an anti-choice zealot, just like his wife Dana.

Not necessarily related to today's gun safety event, but this tweet by him is so off the charts stupid that I have decided to call it our here:
He repeated another PPACA-related lie, this time being about "Obamacare will outlaw extreme sports".

Dr. Robert Flood, director of pediatric emergency at SLU, gave the keynote speech at the end of the rally. The good doctor urged supporters to call congress and turn your rights and sovereignty over to United Nations by supporting the Child Rights Act.

Hoft even took a cheap shot by repeating the far-right talking points equating the support of the Convention on the Rights of the Child Act was an "attempt to take away your rights and the nation's sovereignty over to the United Nations."

ST. LOUIS • The city of St. Louis is “armed to the hilt,” and must change that to prevent violence such as the crossfire shooting of a 4-year-old girl last week, Mayor Francis Slay told a crowd of gun-control advocates Saturday.
Slay and other speakers called for assault weapons bans, universal background checks and other reforms in the wake of the massacre of 20 children and six educators by a gunman at a school in Newtown, Conn., in December.
“I’m here because our streets of St. Louis are awash with guns,” Slay told the crowd. He noted that he was one of about 850 mayors nationally calling for stricter gun laws, with the focus on requiring universal background checks. Current federal law allows gun sales from unlicensed sellers with no such checks.
Steve Marx of St. Louis disagreed. He was one of about a dozen activists who stood at the edge of the rally holding up signs touting gun rights. Marx’s sign read, “Guns save lives.”
“They’re exploiting a tragedy committed by a madman. My rights are not what’s wrong,” Marx said. He said calls for universal background checks was an attempt by government at “total control” over gun owners.
The gun-control rally was organized by a local chapter of the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. It included Clayton Mayor Linda Goldstein, University City Mayor Shelley Welsch and St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson.
Organizers noted that Missouri’s two U.S. senators, Republican Roy Blunt and Democrat Claire McCaskill, had been invited to the rally but didn’t attend.
The national push toward sweeping gun control that seemed inevitable in the days and weeks after the Newtown massacre has slowed, leading some proponents to accuse President Barack Obama of having missed the moment.

Dana Loesch visits TheBlazeTV's The Glenn Beck Program to smear Jim Carrey some more

On yesterday's edition of TheBlazeTV's The Glenn Beck Program, regular substitute host Dana Loesch visited Beck's place of fearmongering to demonize actor and gun safety supporter Jim Carrey some more for daring to create a song that called out the NRA and one of its former spokesmen (Heston).

Dana Loesch smears another pro-gun safety advocate: Jim Carrey

Guess who's smearing gun safety supporters again? If you said the shithead Dana Loesch, then you'd be correct. She smeared Jim Carrey (a celebrity that she used to admire) for simply releasing a song that bashes Charlton Heston and NRA entitled "Cold Dead Hand."

Typical from this useless NRA shill Loesch.

The facts about the song:

TPM:
Jim Carrey has become the latest Hollywood star to wade into the gun control debate. The actor teamed up with Funny or Die to release a song Monday, titled "Cold Dead Hand," that goes after gun rights advocates, specifically former NRA chief Charlton Heston, who died in 2008.

HuffPo:

The late Charlton Heston might be rolling in his grave today thanks to Jim Carrey, who debuted a new satirical song about gun enthusiasts appropriately titled, "Cold Dead Hand."
The Funny Or Die music video features Carrey and alt-rock band Eels as "Lonesome Earl And The Clutterbusters," a country band on a TV show set inspired by the classic variety show, "Hee Haw." Carrey also portrays the aforementioned Heston, who is continuously mocked throughout the song for his NRA spokesman-ship. Carrey even implies that Heston and all other gun enthusiasts buy weapons to compensate for having, um, "diminished" sexual organs.
Carrey, who has openly supported gun control, said in a release: “I find the gun problem frustrating and ‘Cold Dead Hand’ is my fun little way of expressing that frustration."

Wingnut extraordinaire Dana Loesch attacks Piers Morgan and "anti-gun" liberals

Recently, GOP and NRA shill Dana Loesch has attacked "gun safety"/"gun control" supporters for simply trying to get common-sense reforms on guns in America.

Loesch on the Sandy Hook Shooting and how she blamed Liberals/Progressives:

Friday was a day of horror, heartbreak, and prayer. Despite this, some of our progressive brethren couldn’t resist using the tragedy to make a case for risking lives by preventing families a means of self-protection via their Second Amendment rights. Let us have a frank discussion: Progressives believe that our Second Amendment rights are what perpetuated the horrific massacre in Sandy Hook. They believe that if firearm ownership was illegal then Adam Lanza wouldn’t have murdered. They say that Americans shouldn’t be able to own “assault weapons,” as they call them.Where have these mass tragedies occurred? Virginia Tech. Aurora, Colorado. Schools, the majority of them. What do these locations have in common? They are designated “gun-free” zones. Are progressives unable to recognize that their gun control was already in place? Guns were already forbidden? The only solution left is “confiscation,” which goes beyond what they imply by “control.” I would like to hear it explained how a gun-free school zone, in a state with some of the most stringent gun control laws in the country, would have prevented the actions of a man whose intent was not following the law that day?

Dear Dana, it is conservatives like you that politicizes shootings like Sandy Hook, by blaming the following: the alleged lack of spankings in school, alleged lack of mandated [teacher-led] school prayer, unarmed teachers and support staffabortionsame-sex marriage, liberals, unions, et al.

More Loesch distortions on the gun issue:

The other evening Piers Morgan continually referred to the weapon Adam Lanza used in the Sandy Hook massacre as an “assault rifle.” He’s not alone; many left-leaning hosts do the same. Unfortunately, it’s wrong, and it’s dangerous for any conservative to accept such a mischaracterization of these firearms in any conversation. Doing so immediately cedes to the left that such assertions are acceptable and correct. They are not. Unless Morgan and other pundits are insisting that Adam Lanza used a firearm with fully-automatic firing capability, we need to stop using these make-believe, unicorn terms and get educated on firearms.
First and foremost there is no such thing as an “assault weapon.” Any device used to assault (a behavior or action) someone can be defined as an “assault weapon.” There exist fully automatic firearms and semi automatic firearms, period. There technically is no such thing as an “assault rifle,” either. The term is a Nazi invention (Sturmgewehr) fully named Sturmgewehr 44, and is regarded as the first “assault” rifle. Firearms which shared the technical characteristics of Hitler’s rifle were casually defined with this sobriquet and it grew over time.

The problem with using this phrase to define scary-looking rifles is that it betrays a gross lack of knowledge on firearms. The rifle Lanza had in the trunk of his car (and there are various conflicting reports from a too-eager media about whether or not this rifle was used in the shootings) was not an “assault rifle.” Anyone claiming that it was is insisting that Lanza’s weapon was a military-grade rifle capable of selective fire, meaning, it has the giggle-switch to kick it from semi-automatic to fully automatic. I’ve shot so-called “assault rifles” and I own semi-automatics. They are not the same. Anyone calling any of these rifles “assault rifles” used in the Sandy Hook shooting and any other such tragedies are claiming that fully-automatic weapons, regulated to banned, are somehow in the civilian market used in mass shootings.
If the left can move conservatives into using their misused terminology, they’ve already won ground in the anti-Second Amendment battle. When we start taking on the language of the left, we are no longer defending our position, we will have ceded it. We can’t afford such mistakes.

Typical right-wing/pro-NRA apologist rubbish by Loesch. Also, Ms. Liaresch, Liberals/Progressives like me do NOT hate the 2nd Amendment.

And yes, "assault weapons" exist and are a valid definition.

On the 01.09.2013 edition of The Dana Show, she blamed the liberals for "the corruption in society and attempting to ban guns."

From the 01.09.2013 edition of KFTK's The Dana Show:

Excuse me, Dana Loesch! Your gun (or anyone else's) will NOT be confiscated. And the 2nd Amendment is NOT "under attack", either!
