Loony Loesch fills in for Beck on both TV and Radio; tells more outright dishonest fibs

Yesterday, CNN "contributor" and far-right loon Dana Loesch filled in for Glenn Beck on both his streaming TV show and on radio. As expected, Loesch repeated her usual lies and distortions.

Firstly on Beck's radio program (whose show airs before The Dana Show on KFTK), she criticized GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney for NOT repeating the baseless conspiracy she and Bachmann, to name a few Islamophobes, falsely claim that "Huma Abedin and the Muslim Brotherhood are infiltrating our government."

From the 08.06.2012 edition of Premiere Radio Networks' The Glenn Beck Program:

Later in the radio program, Loesch mentioned her her conversion to Liberal to Conservative political viewpoints:

This morning on the radio show, Dana Loesch filled in for Glenn who is away on vacation. Many of you may know her from CNN, Breitbart news, or even her guest spots right here on GBTV, but Dana wasn’t always the strong conservative that she is today. In fact, prior to September 11th, Dana was a pretty hardcore liberal.
“I’m a reformed liberal,” Dana said this morning while introducing herself to the Glenn Beck radio audience.
She continued, explaining that she had her “come to Jesus moment” on 9/11 as she watched the towers falls on her television. She realized in that moment that the ideology which she had believed in doesn’t work in reality – there are repercussions.
Dana, who grew up in a home of southern Democrats in Missouri, had already started her journey towards conservatism prior to 9/11 after being disenfranchised by the left’s treatment of Hilary Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Having a background in journalism, she began writing for a couple of daily newspapers, did a few television spots here and there, and right before the 2008 election Dana got involved in radio.

Loony Loesch used to write for the Post-Dispatch until March 3rd, 2008 as the Mamalogues columnist. The blog Mamalogues shut down in 2010. Nowadays, she's known for peddling far-right smears and lies to an national audience on radio, blogs, and TV.

Later in the day, on Glenn Beck's TV program, she falsely declared that "your religious freedoms are under attack, as of August 1st."

From the 08.06.2012 edition of TheBlazeTV's The Glenn Beck Show:

“Religious liberty was legislated out of existence without public outcry.  American business-owners are now responsible for the results that stem from sexual decisions made by supposedly independent women…”
“Business-owners with less than 50 employees face higher premiums, or they can pay a penalty of up to $100, per employee, per day.  But more importantly, these business-owners are told that they have to subsidize the private choices of workers regardless of their own religious beliefs or practices.”

Wrong, Dana!  The "birth control mandate" does NOT take away your religious freedoms away.

She had on Brandon Darby, and both smeared DOJ and Holder for allegedly NOT preventing child trafficking:

Pro-GOP mouthpiece Dana Loesch baselessly accuses Robin Carnahan and Eric Holder of neglecting Joplin Tornado victims b/c the area voted Republican

Pro-Kinder mouthpiece Dana Loesch and the rest of the right-wing lie machine are seizing on this falsehood that "Obama, Carnahan, Koster, Holder, and Nixon are ignoring 10,000+ voters in tornado-ravaged and heavily Republican Joplin."  The fact-free imbecile Loesch used multiple falsehoods on this story, including the smear that she was linked to the now-defunct ACORN and blamed this on Holder and Obama.

Dana Loesch's BFF Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder (R):

Ed Martin:

Eric Holder accused Florida lawmakers of disenfranchisment when the state took to cleaning up ineligible voters (due to death or felony) from its voter rolls. That same DOJ has been silent about a story brewing out of southern Missouri; after suffering through one of the worst tornados in history, Joplin residents will now face losing their vote
Asking Robin Carnahan for assistance when she's already refused to clean up Missouri voter rolls seems fruitless, but it can't hurt. Carnahan has in the past been linked to ACORN, and the state has fought voter fraud for years. It seems only logical to question whether or not the Secretary of State and DOJ's reluctance to intervene is because the 10,000 Joplin tornado victims are heavily Republican.
President Obama and Eric Holder often talk of how the government can help, and they preach against the evils of disenfranchising voters. So where are they?

She [Dana The Distortion Artist] is indeed out of touch with what's going on.

The actual facts, NOT the GOP-biased spin on 10,000+ voter registration cards returned in Jasper County, Missouri (via the Joplin Globe):

JOPLIN, Mo. — Registration cards for more than 10 percent of Jasper County’s approximately 80,000  voters have been returned by the post office, County Clerk Bonnie Earl said Monday.
New cards, which must be sent to voters each two years, were mailed out earlier in July. But about 10,000 cards have been sent back because the addresses on them were no longer valid. That’s going to pose a problem for voters — and election officials — at the Aug. 7 primary election, said the clerk.
Election officials say many of the cards being returned were sent to residents in Joplin and Duquesne who moved after their homes were damaged or destroyed in the May 22, 2011, tornado but have not yet changed their address with election officials.
Voters can make address changes at offices of the county clerk in the Carthage courthouse and on the second floor of the county courts building at 6th Street and Pearl Avenue in Joplin. Offices are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the week, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The always-reliable Randy Turner has more on the Joplin story (via Daily Kos):

I am anticipating that the scandal will continue to grow over the next few days with all of those who are attacking the president, the attorney general, the governor, the secretary of state, and other Democratic officials overlooking a few facts.
1.    The chief election official in Jasper County, County Clerk Bonnie Earl, is a Republican. And I don’t say that to cast any blame on her. If she were needing help, she would have asked. Sending out the voter ID cards gave her the first indication of what the situation is in Joplin and Jasper County. Some might ask why that step has not already been taken since numerous elections have occurred between May 22, 2011, and now.
2.    The Joplin Globe article that first revealed the problem did not have any mention of people not being allowed to vote. It said that those who do not have the new voter ID cards will probably face some problems. In other words, it is likely it will take longer for them to vote or they may have to cast provisional ballots.
3.    It would not do the Democratic Party any good for those voters to be disenfranchised this Tuesday. It is a primary election so it will not have any effect whatsoever on the race between President Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney. Election officials now have three months to fix the problem and certainly have incentive to do so, especially since those election officials are Republican in a state where close races are expected for some statewide offices and for a U. S. Senate seat.
4.    Don’t think there are any Jasper County Democratic officials who will stand in the way. County Republican primary winners are guaranteed election because no Democrats are running. Nor are there any Democratic officeholders.
All of these things were conveniently overlooked as statewide Republican officials and so far, one national right-wing rabble-rouser (with more undoubtedly to come) sought to capitalize one more time on the Joplin Tornado.

Chick-Fil-A shill Dana Loesch falsely declares they didn't support Uganda's "Kill The Gays" Bill

In her Big Journalism blog, far-right homophobe Dana Loesch downplayed Chick-Fil-A's anti-LGBTQ policies and their support for Uganda's "Kill The Gays" bill.

Big Journalism:

Due to a lack of reading comprehension and desire to deal in truth, progressive websites have for days peddled the lie that Chick-Fil-A supported the Family Research Council's support of legislation which OK'd gay-killing in Uganda. A lie that took all of two seconds to debunk.

Of course, Loesch is lying to her readers, and she knows full well that they did support the "Kill The Gays Bill." Here's the REAL facts from The New Civil Rights Movement.

The New Civil Rights Movement::

Are Chick-Fil-A‘s profits supporting the infamous Uganda “Kill The Gays” bill? How many degrees of separation does it take before you get to wash your hands of slime?
Every year, millions of dollars from Chick-Fil-A’s corporate profits are donated to Chick-Fil-A’s wholly-owned non-profit “charity,” the Winshape Foundation. In turn, Winshape donates millions to anti-gay organizations, many of which spend most or all their focus on defeating or repealing same-sex marriage, trying to “pray away the gay,” spreading lies and hate about the LGBT community, and more.
Winshape annually donates to Family Research Council.
In 2010, as Scott Wooledge notes in this excellent graphic above, and details in his post at Daily Kosthe Family Research Council, a certified anti-gay hate group run by Tony Perkinsspent $25,000 lobbying Congress to NOT condemn Uganda’s “Kill The Gays” bill.

Dana Loesch's week of rampant lies

Last week, prominent far-right fringe voice Dana Loesch has been in a heap of lies, ranging from her rampant Islamophobia by the demonization of Huma Abedin to declaring a CONSERVATIVE Christian caller who criticized Chick-Fil-A's anti-LGBTQ polices a "phony Christian." Also, on ABC's This Week, Loesch lied her ass off to the American people.

Notorious Islamophobic far-right radio host Dana Loesch is stepping up to the plate to make Pamela Geller, Brigitte Gabriel, Frank Gaffney, and the Islamophobia Lobby happy by demonizing Huma Abedin, a Deputy Chief of Staff and aide to Secretary of State (and possible 2016 Presidential contender) Hillary Clinton.
At least two prominent CNN personalities (Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper) have grilled Michele Bachmann's baseless conspiracy theory of tying AbedinKeith EllisonGrover Norquist, and other Muslims to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Nevertheless, TeaNN contributor Loesch repeated the false claim by Bachmann without challenge  on her radio show.

From the 07.19.2012 edition of KFTK's The Dana Show:

Next up, at last Thursday's FreePAC, with Glenn Beck and a few other prominent Conservatives, she stated that "the media is supposed to be our watchdog, not Obama's lap dog."

Guess what, Dana, the mainstream media is the lap dog of the 1% corporatists and NOT Obama or the Democrats.

Next up is Loesch's berating of a Christian conservative caller who opposed Chick-Fil-A's anti-LGBTQ policies on The Dana Show.
From the 07.24.2012 edition of KFTK's The Dana Show:

And lastly, she went on ABC's This Week to tell more grade-A lies to the national viewing audience.
From the 07.29.2012 edition of ABC's This Week:

ABC again invited CNN contributor and conservative pundit Dana Loesch to be part of its This Week roundtable, even though she has promoted a conspiracy theory that her CNN co-workers described as "McCarthy-like."
On her radio show earlier this week, Loesch promoted the fringe idea that Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin "is essentially a member of the female version of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Muslim Sisterhood." The comment was the subject of a letter circulated by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) attacking Abedin.
Similarly, Loesch attacked a caller to her show this week who said she opposed Chick-Fil-A management's stance against gay marriage, telling her that "I know you hate Christ." Loesch claimed that as a supporter of marriage equality, the woman could not be a Christian. Polls over the last decades have shown declining opposition to same-sex marriage among evangelicals, and among Americans in general.
But Loesch nevertheless repeated the claim on This Week, saying, "obviously the CEO is a Christian, people are shocked that he's for traditional marriage? It just doesn't make sense to me."

She also repeated Fixed Noise's false claim that "Obama is harming small businesses."

Dana Loesch defends Bachmann's Islamophobic witchhunt against Huma Abedin

Last week, CNN contributor Dana Loesch claimed a State Department official has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood -- even as her CNN co-workers Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper dismissed such charges as "McCarthy-like."

Loesch discussed Bachmann's Brotherhood infiltration theory with anti-Islam activist Brigitte Gabriel. When Gabriel said that it was "about time our government begins an investigation into the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into our government," Loesch agreed, saying, "Absolutely," then added:

LOESCH: Looking especially at how some of our foreign policy has been handled, Hillary Clinton essentially siding with the Muslim Brotherhood candidate in Egypt, and then it was discovered that her top aide -- Huma Abedin -- is essentially a member of the female version of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Muslim Sisterhood. All of this -- it seems enough to me to pose questions as to why our government is becoming so close with a group that has been so hostile to the United States, has fought against the United States, has sided with terrorists, and is a very oppressive regime that believes in Sharia law.

From the 07.19.2012 edition of KFTK's The Dana Show:

Loesch then took her defense of Bachmann to Big Journalism.

The Republican establishment has long kept Michele Bachmann at arm's length and the exploitation of her simple inquiry into foreign policy matters (along with Louie Gohmert, Tom Rooney, Trent Franks, and Lynn Westmorland) is just another example. What's worse: they seem eager to work in tandem with the media to help push along the overdramatic and purposeful mischaracterization of the group's inquiry -- and set their sights specifically on Bachmann.
The best way to assuage the congressional members' questions about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration is, of course, to prove that they are irrevocably without merit, which isn't done by attacking Bachmann ad hominem and challenging her character. Unfortunately, that's not the route the DC establishment chose.

At least a few high-level Republicans have stuck up for Abedin, such as Arizona Senator and 2008 GOP Presidential Candidate John McCain, Speaker John Boehner, and surprisingly, Congresscritter Jim Sensenbrenner.

Discredited fraudster J. Christian Adams visits The Dana Show

Yesterday on KFTK's The Dana Show, regular guest and voter suppression advocate J. Christian Adams attacked Holder for doing the right thing, which is to stop Texas's horrible voter suppression law from taking effect. And of course Loesch is a vehement supporter of "Voter ID," along with a host of other far-right causes.

From the 07.11.2012 edition of KFTK's The Dana Show:

Highlights:

  • They whined about Republican-favored redistricting isn't stopping their voter suppression efforts. (approx. 2:35)
  • Adams and Loesch both declared that if Texas's law is struck down, then it will put the laws on voter suppression closer to oblivion. (approx. 4:20)
  • Loesch falsely claims that True The Vote, a spin-off of King Street Patriots, monitor elections honestly. They don't. (approx. 5:31)
  • Adams misleading states that the DOJ is "facilitating lawless behavior in our polling places." (approx. 7:09)

Partial Transcript:
LOESCH: "Eric Holder currently has in his sights Texas trying to invoke their 10th Amendment rights to uphold 'voter integrity' in their state. According to J. Christian Adams at Pajamas Media, the Texas Voter ID law is on life support."[...]J. CHRISTIAN ADAMS: "Well, the latest is that the trial is still going on. Tthe Justice Department actually put up a witness this morning to testify that Governor Perry is a 'fascist.'" LOESCH: "So if the Department of Justice scores a win here in Texas, and they prevent them from requiring photo ID in order to safeguard the votes of those casting them. This is, to me, going to set a precedent that is going to endanger the 10th Amendment powers of the other states that are currently in this same tussle with the DOJ."
ADAMS: "Well, you're exactly right. In the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was amended in 2006 to essentially give enormous federal power over state election decisions."
[...]
"The same laws designed to help Republicans with redistricting is causing voter integrity efforts across the country to be attacked by the Justice Department. They're gonna kill Texas's Voter ID law, probably kill South Carolina's Voter ID law, Mississippi and Alabama are trembling. So what you have is heading into the election situation where Eric Holder is using a weapon given to him by Republicans in 2006 undermining election integrity."LOESCH: And this just underscores the huge point that even if we have Republicans in office passing legislation where you give government that much oversight, you can't be guaranteed that you're going to always have good people in office. You should never want someone else to have that kind of power over voting and states' rights anyway."ADAMS: "You're exactly right, Dana, this is part of a bigger problem. Republicans wanted to tend to disengage on racial issues, on election issues, on anything that the NAACP beats its drum about."

Dana Loesch fills in for Glenn Beck on GBTV again

Dana Loesch falsely accuses the Obama Administration of "ruining the Gulf Coast in wake of the BP Spill"

Last Friday on KFTK's The Dana Show, GOP cheerleader Dana Loesch falsely blamed Obama, Ken Salazar, and his Administration for "ruining the Gulf Coast economy."

From the 06.22.2012 edition of KFTK's The Dana Show:

The facts that Loesch didn't tell you:

  • The moratorium expired on October 12th, 2010, which lasted a total of four and a half months.
  • The moratorium issued was for review of safety procedures.

Anti-choice liar Dana Loesch criticizes Lisa Brown's Vagina Monologues speech

Breitbart blogger and anti-choice shill Dana Loesch continues the War On Women by attacking Michigan House of Representatives member Lisa Brown (D), for doing the courageous thing by calling out the hypocrisy on the right on this issue and for doing The Vagina Monologues routine at the Michigan State Capitol.

Big Government

Days after Democrat Lisa Brown attempted to shock the Michigan legislature by lecturing the House Speaker on the floor about her genitals, Democrats launched their "Say Vagina" campaign. (It was quickly hijacked.) Brown became emotional during an abortion debate over a proposal that required greater regulations on abortion providers and banned abortions after 20 weeks. She equated the proposed law to rape by saying:
"And finally, Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my vagina, but 'no' means 'no.'"
Sorry ladies, no one cares about your vaginas. We didn't care about your vaginas when you were attempting to force us into paying for your birth control and comically equated trekking to Target to buy it yourself as "banning." We didn't care about your vaginas when you demanded that we pay for what comes out of them via entitlements, we didn't care about them back when you protested in the street to demand that the public pay for everything related to your vagina via Obamacare. Here's a simple idea ladies: if you don't want people to be interested in your vaginas, don't demand that people pay for them.
Michigan Democrats threw a fit because they opposed the coerced abortion protections and protections offered to a child over 20 weeks of age based on their ability to feel pain. They demanded abortion on demand and lost. Instead of focusing on the war waged against women via abortion, they fabricated a silly story about the word "vagina" and made fools of themselves on the capitol steps by turning women's progress into an excuse to say genitals a million different ways.

No, Ms. Loesch, it's YOU that's obfuscating the truth on this story, not the Democrats or Brown.

Now, the truth from the one voice that got silenced by the Michigan wingnuts, via The Detroit News:

Thursday was an important day at the Michigan Capitol. Many big decisions were being made, and my constituents sent me to be their voice at the Capitol. That is why I am shocked that Republican leadership of the Michigan House of Representatives told me that I wouldn't be allowed to speak on the House floor that day.
So why was I silenced? On Wednesday I spoke against a sweeping new anti-choice bill. This bill attempts to over-regulate women's health clinics to the point that many could no longer offer abortions. Among other things, the plan would require doctors to make funeral arrangements for fetal remains after miscarriages.
In my comments on the House floor, I used a word that Speaker Jase Bolger and floor leader Jim Stamas are clearly offended by. I used the word "vagina."
I used that word because we were debating a women's health issue. Vagina, by the way, is the correct medical name of a part of women's anatomy lawmakers want to regulate. My statements were within the rules of the House and were clearly appropriate in relation to the bill we were discussing.

Loesch, Katz, and other Teabaggers rally to support Kleefisch and Walker

Yesterday, at a teabagger rally in Racine, Wisconsin featuring Walker/Kleefisch apologists, including Wisconsin Congressman and potential Romney VP choice Paul Ryan (R-WI01), Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R), The Dana Show's lead substitute host Tony Katz, and of course CNN, KFTK, and Breitbart's Dana The Devil. The rally featured tons of anti-union right-wing talking points.

Key Loesch falsehoods:

  • Loesch: "I love your cheese curds, I love your beer, and I love your [pro-Walker/anti-recall] fighting spirit. I love your Governor (Scott Walker), I love your Lieutenant Governor (Rebecca Kleefisch), and I love your four State Lawmakers who are standing up to the machine!" (approx. 0:34)
  • Loesch: "Andrew Breitbart (now deceased) inspired the fight that we're fighting." (approx: 1:45)
  • Loesch: "Breitbart is still here." (approx. 1:55)
  • Loesch: "All of this started when some out-of-state union bosses want to exploit the working man." (approx: 3:14). Wrong! It's out-of-state billionaires like the Koch Bros. that are exploiting the working class, as is the GOP.
  • Loesch: "Public sector unions aren't our enemies, but the bosses, in my opinion, are." (approx: 3:33)
  • Loesch falsely claimed that "out-of-state union fatcats who make 6 figures while they bleed paychecks off the working families so they can do what? Donate to candidates who vote against your best interests." Who's acting against the best interests of Wisconsinites? The GOP, that's who! (approx: 3:45)
  • Loesch misleadingly stated that the "war on working families are perpetuated by union bosses and the Democrat Party." No way, it's being perpetuated by ALEC, Koch Bros, and other anti-union-based groups."
  • Loesch said "Shame on Mahlon Mitchell because he signed a petition to boycott pro-Walker Businesses." Mitchell was well within his right to do that. (approx. 5:20)
  • She said "Shame on Tom Barrett." (approx. 5:40)
  • She misleadingly stated that "there's no difference between Barack Obama and Tom Barrett." (approx. 6:25)
  • Loesch baselessly stated that "Barrett will run the State of Wisconsin to the ground like what he did to the city of Milwaukee." (approx. 6:38)
  • Loesch misleadingly blamed the Democratic Party for the loss of jobs and starting the "War on Women." Wrong, it is you and your own party that's responsible for that. (approx. 8:27)
  • Loesch: "You have 7% of the workforce that holding 93% of the population hostage. We are the 93% Percent." Baloney. (approx: 8:56)

No, Ms. Loesch, it's shame on YOU, shame on Kleefisch, and shame on Walker!

Today, I found out that Dana Loesch is still playing her bullying games at her foes on twitter, and the main targets were Adam Shriver (@stlactivisthub) and Milwaukee Mayor (soon-to-be possible Governor of Wisconsin) Tom Barrett (@barrett4wi).

Loesch's smears of Adam Shriver:

Loesch defends Walker/Kleefisch against Barrett:

Sorry, Ms. Loesch! Kleefisch is NOT grassroots, and neither is Koch Bros. puppet Scott Walker!

Typical fascist bullshit.

Nope, Walker caused the LOSS of jobs.

She even got in a dig or two at Gennette Nicole/P.J. Nicolatore (@NicoleGennette).

Nope, your BFF Walker ducked and dodged questions like a typical Rethuglican. Tom Barrett, on the other hand, was honest and direct in calling his lies out.
