On KFTK's The Dana Show, Loesch defends Akin against the "GOP Establishment that wants him to drop out"

Today on KFTK's The Dana Show, she attacked the "GOP establishment" for urging Todd Akin to drop out of the Missouri Senate race against Claire McCaskill. Loesch chose to stand by Akin and his dreadfully offensive comments, something that even fellow "Occupy The Truth" Rally participant Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Senator John Cornyn, Senator Scott Brown, and other prominent Fixed Noise personalities didn't encourage. Surprisingly, there was no reaction (yet) from Rush Limbaugh, as Douglas Urbanksi subbed for The Drugster today. I bet Rush will defend Akin whenever he gets back from Oxycontin smuggling.

Dana Loesch falsely implies that "McCaskill and Democrats want to control women"

Oh, the embarassment! CNN "contribtuor" and Akin apologist Dana Loesch is falsely implying that the "Democrats want to control women." From Big Government:

Democrats are desperate to change the subject from their losing battle on Medicare to government control of health. GOP Senate Candidate Todd Akin made a ridiculous comment regarding his opinion on rape and abortion after which Democrat incumbent Claire McCaskill and the DNC claimed that Akin wants to control women's bodies. This coming from the woman and party who championed Obamacare, a law that will legitimately control all women's bodies, and men's bodies, too.

Under Obamacare women's decisions on their health will be overseen by a litany of bureaucrats.

Claire McCaskill invited Uncle Sam into the doctor examination rooms of millions of American women by championing Obamacare. This isn't her opinion, it's not "misspeech,"she made it law.

This, of course, is a big fat 5-star lie by Loesch. In fact, the PPACA benefits women.

Eric Boehlert, Loesch's primary nemesis, takes down both her and fellow contributor Erick Erickson down a few pegs, via MMFA:

Thanks to Erickson and Loesch, CNN today is associated with a radical position on the Akin story that outflanks anything even Fox News commentators are saying about the controversy.

This is the price CNN continues to pay for wanting so badly to be connected with representative of the right-wing press. Perhaps in search of shields to protect itself from the incessant whines about "liberal media bias," CNN's decision to legitimize the strange views of Loesch and Erickson remains a deeply misguided one.

Akin's comments about women not really being in danger of becoming pregnant during a rape because their bodies instinctively "shut that whole thing down" were so outrageous that many conservative commentatorsquickly condemned him, even demanding Akin step down as the Republican candidate challenging Democrat Claire McCaskill.

Some very prominent Republican politicians have also spoken out.

But not Loesch and Erickson. The CNN bloggers defiantly came to Akin's side, with Loesch claiming he had simply "failed a soundbite" trying to express a "medical statement about rape." And besides, Erickson argued Democrats are guilty of far worse crimes, like passing health care reform.

Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin appeared on a local St. Louis television show (below) and discussed his thoughts on abortion, even in the instance of rape or incest, which accounts for less than 1% of abortions received.

Progressive backlash from Roman Polanski fans and deniers of Occupy rapes was immediate.

Democrats want to make social issues the focus on the campaign as opposed to the economy, where they're losing, and Akin's interview gave them them the momentary opportunity they needed to shift attention away from the lagging economy.
Was Akin's "misspeech" ridiculous? Of course. Is it worse than the misdeeds of his opponent, Claire McCaskill, who rubber-stamps Obama's war on Missouri coal jobs and tripled our deficit? Not by conservative standards, or any real standard of measurement.

The New Civil Rights Movement:

The Internets are aghast after Republican Congressman Todd Akin told a Fox reporter that women who are victims of “legitimate rape” rarely if ever get pregnant because their bodies automagically just “shut down” those pregnancies — so there’s no point in even discussing abortion in cases of rape.

So, who is this brave American defender of Congressman Akin? None other than Breitbart editor Dana Loesch, who claims she isn’t defending the Congressman, merely upset that “some are stretching it majorly.”

Of course, Loesch is defending Akin the same way she addresses every situation in the world: find a sitution that has the same keywords, or in some alternate universe is somehow tangentially related to the major league Republican screw up, and try to make Democrats and liberals the ones to blame.

Even Twitchy, that journalistic malpractice carbunkle of Michelle Malkin isn’t defending Akin — but they are highlighting Loesch’s tweets.

Todd Akin supposedly "apologized" for his comments on rape, but I'm not buying that.

Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) said late Sunday that he "misspoke" when he claimed that women who are victims of "legitimate rape" have biological defenses that fend off a pregnancy and therefore do not need legal abortion rights.
"In reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it's clear that I misspoke in this interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year," Akin said in a statement. He promised rape victims "will have no stronger advocate in the Senate to help ensure they have the justice they deserve" if he is elected.

If Akin can't make a SINCERE and REAL apology about his degrading comments, then he should be voted down this November.

Rep. Todd Akin, the GOP Senate candidate in Missouri, set off a firestorm today afterclaiming that women who are victims of “legitimate rape” don’t usually become pregnant because “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” Now, several conservative writers have started calling for Akin to withdraw from his Senate race.

Two years ago today, DanaBusted.blogspot.com was launched to expose the lies and deceptions of CNN "Contributor", KFTK radio show, and conservative blogger Dana Loesch. Media Matters For America and the St. Louis Activist Hub have additional fact-checking information on Loesch's spin and falsehoods.

Two years later, despite getting numerous attacks on Twitter from Dana and Chris, and their brigade of trolls (especially @CHOWSTL, @EEElverhoy, and @Jimi971) to smear my efforts, I'm still rolling strong exposing the lies and fabrications from them . If they don't like it, too damn bad! They are also responsible for my banning at STLMedia.net's message boards.

Mrs. Mamalogues falsely claims "religion is under attack", still lying about FRC's ties to Uganda's "Kill The Gays" Bill

Add this to the list of lies that Mrs. Mamalogues spews out daily. She is falsely claiming that "our religious freedoms are under attack" baloney that Conservative Christians spew out.

Big Government:

Now various reports state that the suspect, 28 year-old Floyd Corkins II, shouted disagreements with FRC's Christian stance on same sex marriage before opening fire. He reportedly carried with him a Chick-Fil-A bag and other restaurant paraphernalia, and posed as an intern to gain access to the FRC.
The AP reported that Corkins was a volunteer at a LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) center:
David Mariner is executive director of The DC Center for the LGBT Community. He says Corkins had been volunteering at the center for about the past 6 months. Mariner describes Corkins as “kind, gentle and unassuming.”
The reports of Corkins shouting disagreement with FRC before opening fire explains why authorities felt the need to assemble a joint task force and bring in the FBI to investigate. By progressive definitions, you could argue it was a "hate crime."
It's easy to brush aside this incident as one act of a crazy man until you consider the past two weeks. The Family Research Council is affiliated with Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A came under fire due to the free speech of CEO Dan Cathy by militant anti-Christian and anti-free speech activists. They further attacked Chick-Fil-A, accusing them of supporting Ugandan gay-killing via a resolution they claimed the FRC had lobbied to kill.

Their claims were wholly inaccurate and debunked here. The FRC lobbied to change the language of the resolution, they did not oppose the resolution. Anti-Christian activists, under the guise of gay rights, ignored the truth and concocted a smear claiming that FRC lobbied to support the death of gays in Uganda. (It's ironic, considering the majority of these same anti-Christian activists voted for the administration who endorsed a group, the Muslim Brotherhood, which does rule that gays are to be killed via capital punishment simply for being gay.)

Religion is under attack in the United States, but until now, it wasn't meant literally.

Excuse me, Dana!? The FRC DID support Uganda's "Kill The Gays" Bill, and you are still lying about it. And critics of the Family Research Council are not "Anti-Christian." Also, I'm sure religion is NOT "under attack" in the US, unless you're a brainwashed religious right kool-aid drinker who believes whatever their favorite hosts and preachers spout off as the gospel truth.

The real facts about Loesch's hateful deceptions about Uganda's asinine bill, from JoeMyGod.blogspot.com:

FACT CHECK: The FRC lobbied to change the language of the Uganda resolution because (according to them) denouncing the executions of homosexuals constituted "pro-homosexual promotion" because of a clause associating "human rights" with "gay rights." Those are the FRC's exact words, which are available for public viewing on their federally-filed lobbying disclosure form. They didn't have to explicitly oppose the bill because they knew that their objection to its wording would be enough to kill it thanks to FRC-friendly GOP House members who then voted to "refer it back to committee," where it has languished for the past two years. However you want to spin it, the actions of FRC lobbyists did indisputably prevent the House from condemning Uganda's still-pending "kill the gays" bill.

More lies from Dana Loesch: She falsely accuses Obama of cutting Medicare [UPDATE: CNN's Soledad O'Brien calls out Loesch and other RWNJ liars]

On her Big Government blogpost at Breitbart.com, Paul Ryan cheerleader Dana Loesch is falsely claiming that "Obama, not Ryan, cut Medicare." We know that's a flat-out lie, as Ryan's proposed budget plan DOES gut Medicare.

Big Government:

The Obama campaign went after Congressman Paul Ryan over the weekend, claiming that he wanted to push old people off of cliffs by gutting their Medicare. The problem with that false narrative comes by way of Cutter Shambles, the Deputy Campaign Manager for Obama's reelection effort:

Cutter demonstrates a rare bit of honesty here: President Obama did gut Medicare with his health care law. It was part of the fuzzy math employed to make Obamacare look less expensive than the real price tag. Sacrificing seniors for headlines.

Democrats apparently think we voters have forgotten their debunked scare tactics from 2011. Their inability to evolve their rhetoric from this point shows how desperate the campaign is and how scared they are after the Ryan announcement.

UPDATE: CNN host Soledad O'Brien debunks the RWNJ media myth that "Obama cut Medicare."

CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien debunked the pervasive right-wing media falsehood that President Obama "stole $700 billion" from Medicare.

Right-wing media have repeatedly claimed that the Medicare savings included in Obama's Affordable Care Act (ACA) "gutted" the Medicare program. However, on CNN's Starting Point, when Romney senior adviser John Sununu claimed that Obama "gutted Medicare by taking $717 billion out of it," O'Brien was quick to correct him.

O'Brien pointed out that Sununu's talking point has been debunked by the Congressional Budget Office, which found that the Medicare savings in the ACA are not cuts, but rather a reduction in the expected rate of growth of the program.

O'Brien also noted that independent fact-checkers have found that the Affordable Care Act does not cut Medicare benefits. These fact-checkers also determined that the claim that hundreds of billions of dollars have been cut from Medicare is outright false.

Even more GOP shilling from Dana Loesch: The Paul Ryan and Todd Akin edition

This past week, supposed "Independent Conservative" and GOP stenographer Dana Loesch was caught shilling for at least two Republicans this week: Mitt Romney's VP choice Paul Ryan (R-WI01) and Claire McCaskill's opponent Todd Akin.

First, the new VP candidate Ryan:

Big Journalism:

The biggest criticism of the Romney campaign has been its lackluster way of dealing with the media. No one understood the battle with the media better than the late Andrew Breitbart, who foresaw that our candidates would be running against headlines rather than Obama. The addition of Paul Ryan to the ticket has given us a sigh of relief, because if there's one thing we know about Paul Ryan: the man can handle the media.

Wrong, Dana, Ryan can't handle tough questions from non-Conservative/Corporate media sources and spins his way into lies.

Big Government:

Mitt Romney's selection of Paul Ryan as his vice presidential pick shows a deliberate move to re-energize the campaign, appeal to younger voters, and those who want to fix the economy regardless of party. It also signals a huge shift not yet seen from the Romney campaign: a long-anticipated move towards grassroots.
Paul Ryan is heavily favored by Wisconsin grassroots. He's rallied with them across the state as they fought off special interests to save their gubernatorial ticket and keep forward on the path of fiscal reform. He made himself accessible to citizen journalists for interviews and encouraged them to keep on target.

Ryan favored by the grassroots?! Hell no! He's about an 1%er insider as they come. I sure hope Rob Zerban wins the WI-01 General Election, so Ryan can have a double whammy.

Big Government:

Wisconsin's state motto is "Forward." It may be President Obama's campaign motto too, but it's the "cheeseheads" who have truly embodied it. Last June, Wisconsin took a big step forward when voters fought back and reelected Scott Walker, Rebecca Kleefisch, and a slate of state legislators over union and special interests. The election was a warning flag for November. Obama lost the public sector union battle in Wisconsin and now Wisconsin is bringing the fight to his doorstep in the form of a smiling, mild-mannered debate wunderkind named Paul Ryan.
The selection of someone like Ryan reflects a concerted effort to infuse a grassroots vibe into the campaign -- and possibly some Wisconsin schadenfreude, too.

Hey, Mrs. Mamalogues, Paul Ryan and his policy ideas are unfit for America, such as wanting to end Medicare and Medicaid (despite what Michelle Malkin-run Twitchy and the RWNJ noise machine say otherwise).

Secondly and lastly, her home state's (Missouri) extremist kook Todd Akin for US Senate against McCaskill:

Claire McCaskill's campaign wasted no time in attacking Todd Akin after his senate primary win. This evening McCaskill sent an email to supporters claiming that Akin is a "dangerous" tea party extremist.

This coming from McCaskill, a Senator so far removed from the will of her people that after she championed for Obamacare in Missouri, 76% of voters voted to repudiate it via Proposition C. Prop C, or the Health Care Freedom Act, was the first legislative challenge to Obamacare.

McCaskill again rubber-stamped the Obama agenda when she sided with him against Missouri jobs and coal by voting in favor of the MACT rule and effectively shutting the doors of numerous coal plants. McCaskill once claimed she hated coal, odd considering she represents a big coal state, the industry of which employs thousands. McCaskill has rubber-stamped the Obama agenda on most every policy that would adversely affect Missouri coal and jobs.

McCaskill cheerleads for an administration that has quadrupled the deficit, run women from the job pool, and devalued the dollar, while trying to persuade seniors that the government knows best how handle their social security.

Excuse me, Dana?! Last time I checked, it's TODD AKIN that's been a rubber stamp for the 1%ers, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, Christian Conservative organizations, NRA, War On Women, and the Koch Brothers Agendas. McCaskill is nowhere close to an "Obama/Reid rubber stamp," despite what Loesch claims.

Here's the real facts about the radical far-right agenda of US Senate Candidate Akin:

Akin has had ties to Radical Right Christian groups and figures, such as the deceased Dr. D. James Kennedy.

Zach Beauchamp at Think Progress:

GOP Representative and Missouri Senate Candidate Todd Akin has a long history of extremism, particularly with respect to the role of religion in public life. As it turns out, that shouldn’t be much of a suprise: one of Akin’s principal political influences appears to be Reverend D. James Kennedy, a minister who spent his life organizing a movement dedicated to reorganizing the American government along radically conservative evangelical lines.

Though he died in 2007, Kennedy is respected throughout the GOP, and was particularly influential on Akin’s worldview. According to a Politico profile of Akin, “[t]wo sermons by Dr. D. James Kennedy have been very influential for Todd and he references them frequently in discussions of government.” Akin told Kennedy’s Truth in Action (formerly Coral Gables Ministries) organization that “Dr. Kennedy understood how to connect the principles of Scripture with the practical applications of what keeps a nation free, the principles that America was founded on.” Akin also co-sponsored a resolution last year that “honors Dr. Kennedy’s lifetime of service and sacrifice to his God, his country, [and] the ideals of the Christian faith.”

Alex Seitz-Wald at Salon on Akin's ties to militia groups:

Missouri Rep. Todd Akin, who won the Republican Senate nomination just this week, is already on the defensive about a recently resurfaced letter he wrote praising a militia group in 1995. News of the letter, which came via an old St. Louis Post-Dispatch story and highlighted by BuzzFeed Wednesday, plays directly into Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill’s attempt to portray her Republican opponent as a radical.
Indeed, Akin’s letter came about one month before militia sympathizer Timothy McVeigh blew up a truck outside a federal building in Oklahoma City. But the then-state lawmaker’s letter went a bit further than he lets on. “The local militia can bring a positive influence to our community … Your patriotism and concern for our state and nation is to be commended,” Akin wrote.

Akin's Extremism 101:

Akin wants to ban all contraception and abortion, as part of the War On Women agenda.
He has compared student loans to "stage III cancer of socialism".
He has repeatedly advocated anti-marriage equality and anti-LGBTQ measures, including a bill to ban same-sex marriage in the military.
He has advocated the elimination of the EPA, US Department of Education, and Department of Energy.
He has supported the defunding of Planned Parenthood.
He has declared that "Liberals hate God."
He has advocated the abolishment of the 17th Amendment, which removes the people's rights to directly elect Senators.
